this reminiscing and talk of Wild WOodys got me thinking back to the early to mid-80s...
Does anyone remember this weird home-shopping network type of show that was on late nights on Friday or saturday nights in KC? (very, VERY low-budget) From what I recall, there was a "charismatic" guy who sold the product (much like an auctioneer), and a guy who would spin and point behind him every time they made a sale). For the life of me, I cant remember what it was called - but this was way before the home shopping network, etc. And for some reason, I felt like it was local. I just remember laughing my ass off at the two crazy guys - and the guy in the background constantly spinning back and forth (and shouting this loud "WHOOP" every time a sale was made). Anyone else remember this show? |

Yes, grew up in Raytown, cruised noland more times than I can count. That was after driving out to Kansas and buying 3/2 beer when the legal age was 18.

When I was a wild teenager we used to cruise State ave. In KCK. Peter's drive in was there. I remember when Car Craft showed up there it was freaking crazy. People came from all over.
We also used too drag race on speaker road. I got busted one Saturday night and had my 68 camaro towed and impounded. |

Wasn't there a barber shop above them as well? I saw a guy fall out while getting a huge cross tatted on his back, he pissed his pants, got dragged up to the parking lot and stomped out. John is still laying down Oriental up north.
