The real question here is does the addition of Cordero mean that the Royals have given up on Starling or Phillips?

I'm not sure what they're going to do. I thought Bubba looked lost last year but by all accounts he's looked solid in camp and deserves a shot. Phillips is still an elite defender and the Royals value that. This would be less of a question if Franco didn't have 3B locked down, but I guess they can move guys around.

I think the Royals are collecting a lot of lotto scratchers right now. Cordero could get injured in two weeks and Phillips/Starling are back in the rotation.
But, I think the hope is that one of these toolsy guys will have a Cain like flourish. Ultimately our MVP of the 2015 year (and just so damn fun to watch). Cain in the outfield singlehandedly got my roommates into baseball in 2013 (who previously said they just "didn't get the game"). |

Phillips is a really good outfielder but the stick so far just isn't there, Starling to me looks like a 4A guy.

It's not the Royals but there's actually real exhibition baseball on ESPN and MLB Network tonight. I believe it's the first major American sport to have a game in months.

Bobby Witt is taking it to Duffy. Doubled in his first AB, singled in his second AB. Looking good out there.
