Who Would Win in a Fight Between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson?

Alright Planeteers, I've been arguing on message boards with people about this off and on for a couple years now and I want to get CP's input on it. The question is this: Who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson in his prime? Let's hear it!

Precisely. If a man cannot see, he cannot fight (very well).

Do some CPers think Rousey could beat Floyd? Is this real life?
It's fun to deal in hypotheticals, but man v woman? Do they weigh the same or something?

At some point, mass wins. If you're a lumbering brute, that mass can be neutralized and even used against you. But when you have the quickness and explosion that Tyson had, not to mention the footwork he had when D'amato was still training him, he'd absolutely wreck Lee.

This isn't speed vs. power - it's speed vs. speed AND power. Tyson had 90 lbs and a major reach advantage on Lee. He was a technically skilled fighter as well. Lee was a powerful striker for a 135 lb man, but he was nothing compared to the guys that Tyson fought and shrugged off blows from.
Lee was a student of chi...one of the reasons why he could do push-ups on a thumb and fore finger. He was able to concentrate energy like no other.

Black belts couldn't defend his punch. His kicks were lightening quick

See, are we talking a straight-up boxing match or some kind of no holds barred fight to the death? Tyson would win a boxing match.

Tyson wasn't even a boxer. He wasn't skilled enough to be called that. He was a puncher with an animalistic knack for delivering the kill shot. That was his only skill. When that failed, he got his ass beat. Bruce Lee would eat him alive.

Lee never faced a guy as big and strong as Tyson. But Tyson also never fought against guys with the speed and footwork Bruce Lee sparred against, let alone had. So I don't think it's that simple. Given Lee's training, I think he'd be a hard guy to hit and he'd play good defense. And his counter-strike would be a speed and short-distance striking power Tyson wouldn't be used to.

That's not even considering if kicking or grappling were in the picture.

Yeah, I agree the experience angle makes it difficult to say. But you'd have to think Lee's beyond extensive training at least makes him more ready than his critics give him credit for.

Oh, man. You missed a heck of a thread. The best thing about it was the fact that it was at its peak the week she got destroyed by Holly Holm.

You know nothing about boxing. Tyson was as incredible technical fighter.

C'mon man. Some dude typed 13 paragraphs earlier, and ended it with, "Lee would rip his eyes out a half second into the fight." This is all tragically beautiful.

You said the Greatest Ever-Baddest man on the Planet of all time.

http://www.boxingscene.com/-top-25-h...top-ten--26161

Has Tyson ranked 13th and I think that is rather high.

http://www.boxing.com/the_one_hundre..._ten_10_1.html

This one at a very generous #10 which is comical since the good fighters on his record were past their primes.

http://www.boxing.com/the_one_hundre..._ten_10_1.html

Not even in the top ten-but 2 fighters in Tyson's own generation are.

Tyson is an actor now- and he is still not the baddest man -even in the movies.
