Maybe it WAS the right move. Maybe this guy can't draft for shit and getting proven product at any cost is the way to go!

I would have preferred to wait out the CB market a bit, see what happens post draft, and go to the draft with the idea of picking up a good DE in the first, a CB in the second, and a Center in the 3rd.

I would have preferred to get younger, CHEAPER talent so that we can pay the people we need to pay this year, and let our new coaching staff prove their worth.

This guy Clark might be the greatest FA we've ever picked up but I'm not going to start doing cartwheels every time Veach makes a move because until he can demonstrate that his ass cheeks can assume a position other than "wide the **** open" and "open for business/no lube required", I don't trust him enough to throw a parade for every move he makes yet.

It's that simple.

My only fear is what this may mean for Hill. I still think Jones gets paid, but Hill is gonna demand elite money if he’s cleared & is in Cleveland for nothing if he ain’t.

We have not had a player like Clark in a long time. Houston used to be that player- but disappeared last year.

Clark is going to energize this defense. Badger, Jones and Clark- nobody will be dogging on the defense this year and not get yelled at to step it up.

Now if we could only get Devin Bush in the draft, draft a Safety so we can get rid of Sorenson this could be a top 10 unit.

3rd upgrade in 2019 (Seattle vs KC, 9 spots)

Unless you view Clark as a minimal upgrade from Ford, that seems pretty fair to me.

2019 #29 value: 640
2019 # 84 value: 170 (+ 38 from 93)

For sake of the 2020 pick, let’s say the 49ers improve and end up with the 14th pick in round 2: value: 440

If the Chiefs are in the bottom five of round 2 again, you’re looking at value ranging: 292-270 (+150-170)

Let’s keep the numbers round and say they end up gaining 200 draft value points overall. That’s the equivalent of a mid-3rd round pick.

... (edit)
Which means the overall payout in draft pick value equates to basically a mid-2nd

Didn’t mention the $$$$$$$

Tag Hill and win our back-to-back superbowls then we can let Hill go wherever he needs to go...

In one offseason, the Chiefs turned:
Justin Houston (expensive brokedick)
Eric Berry (expensive brokedick)
Dee Ford (perennial brokedick who only consistently shows up in a contract year)
Eric Murray (trash)
The number 29 pick

Into:
Honey Badger
Bashaud Breeland (on a cheap deal)
Ogbah
Frank Clark
Okafor

It’s almost as if the Chiefs defense ****ing sucked last year and they needed to upgrade quickly with immediate proven commodities. Quite the concept.

I still like Sorenson. He’s the only Chiefs player from the past couple of seasons who actually gave a shit

What's the reaction of Seattle fans?

I can only surmise that they are celebrating like Joffrey Baratheon just OD'd?

Alright, listen, I’m not saying Frank Clark is Khalil Mack. He’s not. But I found these numbers over the last 3 seasons to be interesting.

Frank Clark - 47 games, 32 sacks, 31 TFL, 66 QB Hits

Khalil Mack - 46 games, 34 sacks, 39 TFL, 66 QB Hits
