Can we all agree now, that the myth that Reid can scheme around anything is bullshit?

The injuries of the offensive line, in the end, were just too much. Even for Mahomes.

They ran a Tampa 2 to take away the big plays, and we couldn't pass block, and we couldn't run the ball consistently.

You still have to block. No matter what playmakers you have.

And defensively, the defensive front 7 is need of an infusion of talent too.

The Chiefs need another force up front. Maybe Gay is the upgrade at LB, maybe we need another.

But I don't want to hear any more horseshit about how we shouldn't spend draft resources on the offensive line.

Even Mahomes is still human. Exceptional, yes. But human.

No idea why we didn't just run the Bills gameplan with tons of quick game again. TB played nothing but 2 high safeties all game just like pretty much every team has this year.

It can't be that simple then right? I mean it seemed like even the quicker hitting stuff and check downs were bottled up too.

Just receivers not winning quick enough? So really just no answers to having an OL full of backups? Why not chip and give TE help to the tackles?

Frustrating!

The Reid’s are set for life.

I doubt he retires but it was weird, looked like he didn’t want to be there.

At best the Chiefs get the ball back around their own 20 with no timeouts left and 40+ yards to go to even get into FG position with only 30 or so seconds to do it. There's no reason to take that risk and give the Buccs a ****ing reason to try when the odds of the Chiefs putting points on the board was beyond remote. Imagine how different the feeling would have been coming out of the locker room for the second half down just 14-6 instead of giving up a crushing TD just seconds before halftime.

That was a game defining moment that was full of pure stupidity.

I can’t speak to Reid’s prior Super Bowls but I can’t imagine any of them having worst coaching decisions than those timeouts. We were LUCKY to only be down 8 points with a minute left. I truly believe that those timeouts ended any chance we had at winning the game given they directly led to a TD. And beyond the points, it absolutely destroyed the players mentally. You could see it on the sideline and on the field after it happened.

A lot of game planning goes out the window when you fall behind as well. By the time we tried to run it was too late and dropped passes killed drives and score before we could establish anything. Mostly because the ol sucked of course.

The answer is: You exploit the two deep safeties. You do it by running the ball, and by dropping it in over the LB'ers. You force those safeties to cheat forward.

We couldn't block well enough to do either.

I don't want to hear any more bullshit about how we can scheme up and work around scrub offensive linemen.
This is exactly correct. Our O-line can’t pass pro well enough for simple run or dump plays. At least the line that started tonight should never see the football field again.

After sobering up I probably read the title way more than the message. My bad.

But I will say this... We did our job on the OL. 4 of 5 starters out and they were the right guys. Our OL depth isn't bad. I don't love Wylie but he, Remmers, wisnewski are fine enough depth. But these guys arent supposed to carry an OL. They're supposed to be guys who won't hurt you too much if a starter goes out. Few OLs will succeed when 4 of those guys step in. Worse, because our LT opted out it forced our backups not only to play, but to play out of position.

our roster was not well equipped to handle the absolute worst case scenario. The worst of the worst. While I agree OL needs to be a focus I can't say this happened because we didn't focus enough on OL.

Yeah, they're sticking it to Bill all the way to the bank. I'm pretty certain that he sleeps very well at night on his pillows of cash being cast as the 'bad guy in black'.

It is just entertainment, like horse racing, the sport of kings. People who make billions, pay players millions and all supported by people who make thousands.

I agree.. Having all these weapons for Pat is useless if the O-line is complete garbage. Pat couldn’t make it passed one or two reads and The new shiny toy CEH should have had a tremendous year but the weak oline can’t open holes and our rb’s are usually met in the backfield. Also we cant run 1 or 2 yards up gut for shit when we need it!

We’ve said it many times. We can’t be a team that relies simply on Mahomes doing crazy shit to bail us out of holes.

It isn’t sustainable even as good as he is. We have to add more talent.

Per Nick Wright, NextGenStats reports Mahomes scrambled for 497yds under pressure last night. He was pressured more than any QB in NFL history. The OL wasn't just terrible, it was historically awful.

Tom did well in picking the Bucs to go ring chasing. They were a roster loaded with talent. Most people noticed the WRs but they also were loaded at DL and OL.

Biggest need for off-season now is Left Tackle. Then Center, another WR that is dangerous and another pass rusher.

Hopefully KC can get a few vet ring chasers on the cheap here and kill the draft.

I believe I saw a stat saying he was pressured on 52% of his dropbacks, most ever in a SuperBowl
