****Official 2019 NFL Draft Discussion****

Post any interesting thoughts - feel free to create a new thread that flows with the timing of the actual draft.

A few of my thoughts.

I'll say we get Byron Murphy first pick and then possibly manage to get Justice Hill later than expected due to last year's injury.

Players I wouldn't mind:

-- Ed Oliver (duh)
-- Nasir Adderley (again, 'duh')
-- M. Brown
-- AJ Brown
-- Hakeem Butler
-- Rock Ya Sin
-- Fant (doubt it)
-- Hockenson (don't see Brett drafting 1st round)
-- Deebo Samuel (not at 29 but should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?
-- Justice Hill (absolutely should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?

Let's talk about it!

yeah. You'd have to. I'd do it while simultaneously being almost irritated that I had to do it.

About the only thing that would piss me off would be Bradbury at Center; as I just don't think it's good value.

If an AJ Brown, Metcalf, Hollywood maybe; one of those guys dropped you'd have to do that too. Then go Defense in rounds 2 and 3.

We’re not drafting defense with every pick. Might as well get over that now.

I fully expect them to use 1 pick in round 2 to take offense, or to use their 3rd rounder if only 1 2nd round pick remains after a trade.

Same with Fant. Fant is uber athletic. He also has the hang clean record at Iowa, so I'm sure he would be more than a serviceable blocker considering our spread run game would usually have dime or nickel across from it with 2 TE sets.

BPA other than QB. We could use a talent influx at every position.

Man I really hope we don't learn our lesson and believe that we can out-shoot everybody all the way to a Super Bowl, because that would be great!

Tough schedule
Top receiver might get suspended
2nd receiver is injury prone
3rd WR is in last year of rookie deal and isn’t proven.
We don’t have a 2nd TE

The offense has needs, too.

You just keep the scores under 24 on the other side of the ball, and Mahomes will take care of the rest.

I can easily see him getting past 8, but yeah he seems like a lock for top 20.

If he did fall to 29, I wouldn't overthink it I would just run the card up there.

Im willing to make a bet that Veach picks someone in rd 1 or 2 that would have been available at their next pick. He's going to piss alot of people off. Veach thinks he's smarter than everyone else.

Why would you make a bet where the outcome could never be proven?

I think whoever Veach picks, some people around here will think it's a reach and whoever it is would have been draftable a round later. They will point to the big board they found from xyz.com which shows the guy was a third round talent, and ignore the 10 other big boards that had him as a first round talent.

Know one really knows what actual value half of these guys have, drafting guys slightly above their real "value" is not a big deal in my opinion, as long as the guys you actually get have an impact on the field and make the team better.
