ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington said Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world who was to start the second round at 8:48 a.m., drove past a police officer a little after 6 a.m. in his SUV with markings on the door indicating it was a PGA Championship vehicle.

The officer screamed at him to stop and then grabbed onto the car until Scheffler stopped about 10 yards later, Darlington said. The officer, identified in the arrest report as Det. Gillis, was dragged “to the ground” and suffered “pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist” after the car “accelerated forward,” according to Louisville police.

Scheffler was booked at 7:28 a.m. — about 2 1/2 hours before his updated tee time after the second round was delayed because of the fatality. In addition to the assault charge, he was booked on charges of third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.

I really wanted this to be on Sheffler cuz he's so boring and ruining golf because of it but I guess based on this info I just cant. Sounds like the police officer had his ego hurt. Maybe this will actually help Sheffler be thought of as less boring. These Scottie muhshot shirts are wonderful.

The best player in the world is "ruining golf." JFC, do you ever have an opinion that isn't completely reeruned?

Idk how you can watch him and think it’s boring. If anything HE’s bored from whipping everyone’s ass. Maybe this is his Tiger arc, then BWillie will approve.

His golf game definitely isn't boring. He's the best ball striker on the planet overall but other than that he's not gravitating for TV. This is not a new take. He lacks charisma, is not outspoken, he operates like a robot, has the most boring press conferences ever. You don't ever see any emotion out of him but he's trying. In the last year he is trying to be a bit more engaging.

For TV you would rather him be a villain or a hero. Bryson and Sergio may be dbags but at least its good TV. Tiger chucking clubs and cussing when hes sucking and fist pumping when he's on is great for reeling in the common fan. You would think in this day and age for social media these guys would be more fun but instead you get Patrick Cantlay, Scottie Sheffler and Brian Harmon.

I just don't think the Golfers should be going into the same entrance as everybody else, nor the vendors for that matter, but I am guessing this will be the last PGA Championship in Kentucky for a long time and it certainly won't be at Valhalla.

Also what is with this "tried to attach himself to the car" nonsense does the cop think he's Batman?
