They also spent money on Aaron Jones, and paid Hockenson, getting rid of Jefferson would make no sense for them.

No doubt. They will have to draft nearly perfect to not be a .500 team in that division.

They'll get a nice trade haul for him, but I don't know if that will be enough. Veach got his Tyreek draft picks and didn't blink. Bengals have a nice GM, but there's still plenty of ways he can **** it all up

It might if they had other stars to pay. Jordan Addison is going into his second year and looks like a really good WR. If they were paying up for defensive players and O-line and such to make the overall team better it isn't like McCarthy would have nobody to throw to.

That said if I'm a GM who just wagered it all on a rookie QB, I'm signing Jefferson unless it's absolutely impossible.

I don’t know why all teams don’t follow the path to Seattle drafting Russel Wilson. Keep swinging at QBs every single year. Hell, even Seattle themselves should have kept following this advice. Even if Minnesota drafted McCarthy they need to keep swinging unless they’re 100% sure.

There’s still something to be said for building an elite roster around a rookie contract qb. As long as that qb is good. Way better than building around an expensive Alex smith or dak prescott type who seem to have a ceiling

They're OL is actually pretty good, their OT pair is one of the better ones in the league.

Because honestly he's an outlier, he dropped because he's a midget. There is a very very long history saying using 4th round picks on QB's over and over is wasting picks.

Not enough reps to develop 2 QBs anymore.

Locker room dynamics are a thing as well.

Ask Atlanta about how it's playing out with the 2 QB thing in October
