He's done it 1 time. It's hilarious that Bronco fans can't figure out they got played for a boatload of money.

Not only does Sean Payton know QBs, he knows how to get the most out of them as well:

Spoiler!
He did nothing with Russell Wilson.

Hilarious how Knowmo blows Sean Payton for finding Tony Romo despite him not being the HC or GM but hand waves Veach finding Mahomes despite him not being the HC or GM, even with Andy, Albert Breer and Mahomes own agent confirming that it was Veach the whole time

I knew it was a matter of time before he brought up Romo and his hypocrisy would be on full display.

Sorry, but that's just inaccurate:

Russell w/Payton improved in most of the categories that matter.

Completion% went from 60.5/66.4
TDs/INTs went from 16/11 to 26/8
TDs% from 3.3/5.8
INT% from 2.3/1.8
Success% from 36.2/43.3
Passer Rating from 84.4/98.0
QBR from 38.7/50.7

And just FYI, he did the same thing for Brees. Brees had a rocky start to his career in SD, but eventually showed his potential in year 4 of his career, followed by another decent season in year 5, though his Passer Rating, TD%, Y/A all fell off some, while his INT% rose from 1.8 to 3.0.

With Payton, well the numbers speak for themselves, but the short version is that Brees was consistently one of the most efficient QBs of all time.

So he improved from god-awful shit to regular awful shit. Payton must be a genius.

If you don't buy the stories about Veach pounding the table for Mahomes, why do you buy this?

Assuming it's true, how has Payton given us any reason to think he's better than anyone else at spotting QB talent?

1. Stick with Drew Lock
2. Draft Kenny Picket
3. Take a swing at one of the two 9x Pro Bowl QBs who were rumored to be available.

I don't like the result of the Russ trade, but the decision made perfect sense at the time, and in the end, it might've been the best thing that ever happened because it led us to Sean Payton and Bo Nix.
I forgot that Paton also has the Nat Hackett hire on his resume

Thanks for reminding me!

Nick Bolton - Hit
McDuffie - Hit
Felix Anudike-Uzomah - I hate to label anyone a bust after their rookie season, but the Chiefs had him inactive for the playoffs and gave him 10 or fewer snaps in every game after week 5, except for week 18 where they rested their starters.

A 2/6 hit rate on the highest picks in each draft doesn't seem very impressive.

Meanwhile, despite missing three first round picks and three second round picks, the General's troops still managed to execute a perfect pincer movement to bring down Mahitler at the Battle of Mile High.

Veach has found more high-quality starters since 2018 in rounds 4-7 than Paton has found in all rounds during in his entire laughable tenure in Donkville. Might be why we've won 3 Super Bowls during that time and you losers haven't even sniffed a Wild Card playoff game.

Maybe. Facts are facts though, and the facts are quite simply that Payton took a QB that most considered completely washed and was statistically the worst QB in the league the previous season, and made him serviceable. In fact, those improvements are comparable to his better seasons in SEA.
