*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Playerspeak is playerspeak, but the bright side he's complimenting a physical attribute of his game rather than some consolation prize esque commentary like "He gives 110%, real gym rat, lunchpail guy" et cetera.

That's good to hear.

If Mahomes can work on his weaknesses and get the mental aspect down he is going to be special and we will finally have a QB we actually drafted hopefully be elite with time. Something we haven't had since, what, Len Dawson? It has been a long time that's for sure.

I still say we have to be patient but ultimately I think the kid is going to be very good.

Along with a cannon arm, Vick had crazy agility and acceleration as well. It was always about the 10 cent brain.

Mahomes has a great arm, and acceptable mobility. Just have to wait and see about the dedication to feed his brain, and have the perseverance if/when things don't go well early on.

Strong arm, but just not real accurate. I think he lacked the ability to put touch on the ball. It seemed like everything he threw was a BB. I don't recall him making any plays like Mahomes TD where he had to loft it up softly like that.

The entire interview is pretty damn good, but the Mahomes conversation starts at about 3:50---

A little more about coaching Mahomes (not much, though) at 6:30ish

Love what he said because it really encapsulates the big picture.. Patrick can do things the vast majority cannot from the position, he's not ready right now, he is learning and developing... but when it is time for 15 to assume starting duties.. watch out, NFL.
