Serious question

Since Ramsey has a "tight back" and other issues, can't the team just put him on IR? That would end the weekly distractions for the team and send a message.

If he is on IR, he gets a year of service time without any pressure to play.

Iirc this will be the last off-season with a franchise tag, as well.

Meaning, anyone trading for Ramsey better get him to sign a new deal before trading for him or he will want to hit FA with the new CBA and then he’s gone.

I wonder what Miami would take for Howard. He’s already on a very team friendly long term deal.

Franchise tag isn't going anywhere unless players want to give up another year of control. The transition tag is gone after this season though.
