It’s a simple loop knot. The difference is easy - it doesn’t slip.
If you’ve ever gone fishing you’ve tied a loop knot. They’re damn strong knots that leave a firm, static handle. These efforts at doubling down are just stupid beyond dignifying. |

I was taught the trilene knot as a kid and am stuck doing that whenever I go fishing. I don't know any other fishing knots, except for snagging.

Wallace went too far in his interview. He can’t walk this back without looking like a moron. He missed his chance to appear reasonable.

I'm glad someone finally posted this. I had been too lazy to google it. Nearly every person who has fished was taught this knot before they were 10.
I'm betting a lot of nascar guys still like to fish considering the stories of whole crews running away to the nearest lake and showing up to official meetings late because the fish were biting are legendary. Hell Dale Sr. would just completely not show up to sponsor meetings with the head of Budweiser when the fish were biting at the nearest lake. |

You can spot the people who have spent maybe 15 minutes outdoors in their lives REALLY quickly right now.
If you know maybe 5 knots, you know a 'noose'. I never use 'em because they fall into a weird middle ground. There are easier ones ones and there are stronger ones. I almost always use a simple slip because I'm not worried about it breaking most of the time - it's not permanent. And if I'm making a permanent one I'll use a bowline or something. But this WASN'T A ****ING NOOSE! This knot was probably a basic loop or a bimini. Which is absolutely perfect for its intended use. People are just real dumb. |

Pretty telling that after the FBI shuts any notion of it being a hate crime down NASCAR and Bubba Wallace still try to fan the flames. Lame Woke PR crap is so ****ing dumb here, especially since the people you're appealing to aren't going to watch this sport and you're ostracizing the die hard fans you do have.
