So 3 or 4 is the debate here - Tony G or Sharpe. Tony G beats him on numbers, Sharpe kills him on hardware. At their respective apexes, (1998-2001) it was Tony getting the All Pro nods but a pretty good argument exists that Sharpe was declining at that point while Tony was still ascending.

But ultimately I don't think there's a huge distinction between their best levels. Both guys were spectacular at their best. Longevity, though, is Tony G in a walk.

So regardless of hardware, I'm giving Tony the 3 spot.

Kelce
Gronk
Gonzalez
Sharpe
Gates
Winslow
Everyone else (there's a pretty big drop after Winslow, IMO)

270 games from Gonzelez, virtually all of them at a very high level (whereas Gates fell off really hard) is pretty damn incredible, though. To put that in perspective, Kelce would need to play another SEVEN YEARS to hit those figures. Dude was made of granite.
Right now it's

Gronk
Kelce
Sharpe
Gates
Gonzalez
Winslow

Please.

Sharpe is defensible but is still homeriffic.

Gates over Gonzalez is just flat being a hater. Gates did the same things Gonzalez did, but at a lower level and for less time. There is NO argument, none whatsoever, in favor of putting Gates ahead of Gonzelez.

Doing so shreds any credibility you may have in the discussion.

It's par for the course with Garcia, because he's a fool.

1 & 2 can go either way (depending on who you ask), but the #3 guy on your list said himself that Kelce is the greatest TE of All-Time, largely due to the 7 straight 1000 yard seasons. He said that was crazy and that no TE will ever accomplish that again.

Considering how bad the Broncos will be this year I don't see the point.

I like to think that the chiefs drafting worthy precipitated this contract. Might not be true, but I choose to believe that the chiefs live in the heads of other gms.

They drafted Worthy because he's an excellent wide receiver, and area we were deficient in.

I can easily buy the argument that Kelce is the greatest tight end ever because he's made the most clutch plays and has been dominant for a long time. But I also feel like Tony G. is a victim of being in the wrong place and wrong time. It's hard to not pick Tony, who went to a million pro bowls on really bad teams.
