If these guys are worth that much, Mahomes is worth at least 50 million per.
It’s why he should wait to sign, to see what these middle tier guys get. |

Bridgewater got a shit break with that knee. I really don't know what he is other than not as good as Brees (and by definition, our guy - I can't get over how weird that feels). But yes. By all means pay everybody 30M. |

How many teams would be that desperate for a QB?

He is a backup and should be paid like one. I don't think he can carry a team for an entire season.

The idea that teams are going to pony up jack for Bridgewater and ****ing Taysom Hill is the most ridiculous shit ever.

So yeah the Chiefs have to be careful with the cap once Mahomes gets his new deal, but man how would it suck to be the Raiders and have to pay Tom Brady 30M a year, or 30M a year for Bridgewater? In the end, the difference is only 10M - that's nothing.
And it also why a QB cap/fund make sense. It will never be a separate salary cap, but it can be a set amount of dollars that every team will use to offset these QB contract. I mean make it 25M this year and then just index it. 25M of cap-free dollars would help every team equally, doesn't matter if you are the Chiefs or the Bengals |

Teams always try to copycat success. They all want the next Lamar Jackson now; a QB with average passing skills, but can run around and get some first downs. Bridgewater is a better passer, so I would guess a QB needy team will end up way over-spending for this journeyman backup.
