*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Bray: 27-of-45 (60 percent) with two interceptions in full-team drills, 21-of-32 (65.6 percent) with one interception in 7-on-7 drills.

Mahomes: 31-of-45 (68.9 percent) in full-team drills, 17-of-28 (60.7 percent) in 7-on-7 drills.

This (small) sample size supports the notion that Mahomes is better in full-team situations than 7-on-7.

That's interesting. Would think 7-on-7 favors the QB. Mahomes grew up in that kind of culture too since TX high school QB's are usually pretty involved with 7-on-7 during the summer.

Only thing I can come up with is maybe the full team drill allows more improvisation, which is Pat's greatest talent other than the cannon arm.

Total stupidity. Smiths cap hit will get him out the door unless a miracle happens and we win the SB.

What is this "improvisation" that you speak of, and is such a practice even allowed in Chiefs offense?

This is Daniel Jeremiah. He was a scout for Reid in Philly. Maybe he knows something that is as fans don't

Alex Smith would have to lead this team to the AFCCG, MINIMUM to stay here in 2018. And by lead, I mean he would actually have to be a positive contributor to the success and not just ride the defense's coattails.

So, the Chiefs are just going to plant Mahomes on the bench for three years ("two full years if not longer"), which severely inhibits their ability to re-sign any of the other 51 guys they've drafted and developed from the last season or two prior and precludes the ability to bring in any free agents to shore up any holes in the roster? So in 2020 they can finally see if Mahomes is ready in the second to last year of his contract, and if he is they get one year of play out of the guy at a relatively cheap cap number before they have to hand over a Derek Carr-esque deal to keep him from signing with another team?

Really? That's the plan?
