Andrew Luck Retires

Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

I still hurt everyday from a high school football injury that was 16 years ago. Part of the reason I turned down college scholarship offers. I can only imagine what some of these guys who have played more with the injuries they have suffered. Money is great though, but your health is as well.

Yeah probably. Ravens at Steelers would likely replace our game.

And a guy like Andrew Luck? He's probably got $30 to $50 million in the bank at age 29, which will give him an annual income of roughly $2 million to $3 million. He can go live on a yacht and watch hookers dance for him, or he can take blindside hits from guys like Chris Jones and Frank Clark. You can enjoy the game of football a lot and still choose to live on the yacht.

Mods, do not let Patrick Mahomes II read this post.
MVPat (largely) doesn’t have the turnstiles Ryan Grigson had protecting Luck.

No way. We're still the Chiefs. Flexing is a big decision and it's not like they just do that whimsically early in the season when one of the two teams is still a ridiculous draw.

The Jags should win the South, but the Titans own them, and the Texans now have the best QB in the division, so nothing would surprise me. The Colts don’t have a chance though.

I just dunno that the Jags have enough offense. Yeah, yeah, Foles and all, but unless Fornette really blows up and they become a power football team, I dunno.

The Jags should have cut and run from Bortles 2 years earlier than they did. This team has a ton of shoulds that never came to pass.

We don't have enough offense. All we have is Dede. That's not enough. I don't think Foles is suited for an antiquated power run offense. You would think they would change the philosophy, but I don't trust Coughlin. He's checked out in my mind.

So now Cam might miss time? Damn

Soon you won’t be able to hit QB’s. Owners want more games to get more money. They are losing money because the best QB’s and faces of the league have missed considerable time/retired the last 3 years.

It’s been really bad. Ain’t nobody watching backups.
