Paton hiring a coach as bad as Hackett screams red flags.

Hackett isn’t just a bad coach, he has no idea what he’s doing.

Why would Denver’s owners let him hire anyone else after that debacle?

Would be hard to replace an all-around EDGE like Chubb. I'd like to keep him around, but with his injury history it would be tough to pay him $20M+ per year. Denver should get at least a late 1 and a day 2 pick.

It's even worse because we know why he hired him, and hiring a HC on that basis is somehow worse than hiring him because they actually thought he could coach.

Honestly a bit baffled why he's not just disappeared like in seasons past. You can tell his heart isn't really into it anymore just from all the self owns he's been committing recently. Not to mention he won't actually discuss his own opinions for the most part since he'll just be mocked and dirided bully literally everyone else.

Paton paid Randy Gregrory $16 million a year to miss games after he had shoulder and knee surgeries in back-to-back years.

Surprise surprise the guy who has never played a full season is once again missing games.

Just a dreadful moronic move

You shouldn't be surprised.

Unmedicated delusions generally get worse with age. He's clearly losing his mind because he actually thinks Russ is the answer.

Hiring a HC and finding a franchise QB are the two most difficult things a GM has to do. Unless you're fortunate enough to have a known commodity - like an Andy Reid or Sean Payton - fall into your lap, the odds of finding a HC who will receive a second contract with your team are very low. We had a guy like that in Kubiak, unfortunately his health failed him.

Is it possible that he still thinks Russ is going to channel his inner early 2010s and turn the whole thing around?

Not for Gomer Paton. He paid a much less and more often injured player 16 million a year.

Clark Hunt aggressively pursued Andy Reid the minute he was fired in Philly. He didn't fall into anybody's lap.

Or have John Elway literally fall into your lap by crying and having an emotional meltdown threatening to play baseball.

Or Manning falling into your lap bc the best QB prospect since Manning himself was available for his team to draft getting the first overall pick.

The Chiefs went full steam to Philly to get Andy the minute he was available. They did their homework and drafted a QB that many people (yourself included) thought was very flawed.

Save your “Chiefs luck” bullshit. Your stupid franchise is built upon luck and now it’s run out.

Good luck finding a QB in the draft Knowmo. You have ONE playoff win for from a drafted QB and that was Tim Tebow

I love this…

https://www.milehighreport.com/platf...for-head-coach

1. Nathaniel Hackett - Green Bay Packers Offensive Coordinator

The possibility of Aaron Rodgers notwithstanding, the reason I’ve preferred Hackett throughout the process is that he looks like a strong fit for what I believe the Broncos need. He’s been an offensive coordinator for three different franchises by the time he’s 42-years-old and has designed passing attacks around the skillsets of E.J. Manuel, Blake Bortles, and Aaron Rodgers. Matt LaFleur is the primary play caller in Green Bay, but Hackett is a key part of the red zone offense where they’ve been very good and it’s something he also found success with in Jacksonville. Meanwhile, the Broncos finished the 2021 season with one of the worst scoring offenses in the league.

Gomer Paton is the only gm dumb enough to give up a first and second for an injury prone player looking for a big payday

They hired him because he was the antithesis of Vic Fangio. They could've tried luring Aaron Rodgers by hiring another HC with Luke Getsy at OC.

Ironic that Denver is one of the worst RZ offenses in the league.
