Yep. If anything, it shows that they did everything to try to get Rodgers and Wilson was a last second backup plan. They can’t even change the offense for him, apparently.

They're tied to Wilson and not Hackett... fans would have no problem with a coaching change at this point. Dropkick his arse out the door and bring in Sean Payton. Waltons have the cash to make that happen, go put your first stamp on the team.

I think that's pretty baseless based on what we've seen.

We now have 2 examples of Russ not seeing a wide open receiver in the end zone.

How exactly is that on the play caller?

You don't think this is the offense that Russel wanted to run? He acted like he was held back by Pete Carroll and how that offense was ran. You think he was ok with going to Denver and signing that contract if he didn't get a huge amount of input into the offense that was run? This is the offense that Russel thought best suited his skillset and we're seeing that he's just trash at running it.
Pete Carroll's insistence on a run-based offense was actually good for Russell. It opened up the play action passing game. At least the defenses respected Seattle's run game enough that these type of play action plays had a good chance of success.

The only real option the new ownership group in Denver has now is firing Hackett and hiring Sean Payton. If that were a reality, they should do it now.

But, I know it's not a reality... so yeah.

Peyton wants to take a year off, but it's a good plan to do that ASAP. Might have to deal with Dallas wanting him also. And Jerry usually gets what he wants.

Exactly. Wishful thinkers kept repeating that Pete Carroll was holding him back. He just needs to get away from Pete and he'll be fixed!

Like I said plenty of times before the season, maybe Pete actually knew what he was doing. He's had a lot of success, both in college and the NFL. Let's not forget that when Pete, against his better judgment, "let Russ cook," it fell apart pretty quickly and he became a turnover machine. Then Carroll pulled the plug and righted the ship.

Teams don't just trade away legit franchise QBs in their prime. And the fact that they were considering replacements all the way back in 2017 or so says it all.

There isn't actually any data to support this truism. Which means that they could switch to a run-based offense and Russ would STILL suck lmao!!!!

Well, no other at team at this point is likely to fire a coach... so be bold Waltons. Dump that brinks truck up to his house and bring in Sean Payton.

Payton made just under $10M annually with the Saints.

That's about what Kyle Shanahan makes now and is top 5, looks like only 3 coaches over the $11M bar - Carroll, Big Bill and McVay.

I don't care what the $ is, it doesn't count against the cap, go give Payton a 5 year $80M contract and let's party.

Payton ain't coming unless he gets highest paid coach money and that bargain shopper owner isn't doing that.

Not to mention Wilson looks like shit and he won't want any part that problem.
