2. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

OFF 10 | DST 30 | Betrayal Index: -20

Only twice this season has an NFL team lost when producing at least 16 EPA on offense. The Chargers were that team both times, first against the Dolphins, then against the Lions. Historically bad DST games against Detroit, Miami and Kansas City stand out for the Chargers this season. That is why Herbert remains about where he was when this index debuted before last season, among the most betrayed quarterbacks in the league.

He played for one of the most dysfunctional teams/organizations in NFL history. Might've had some little bit to do with it, Idk.

So you're just going to ignore the fact that the record you posted isn't even accurate?

Nobody remembers the QB that had good stats and had a 30-29 record with Chargers and then everything changed when he went to a really good offensive coach.

Stats/records based on certain criteria aside, who honestly trusts Herbert to lead a game winning drive when it actually matters? Herbert gets more excuses made for why he can’t get it done than almost any other QB in the league.

Herbert is a very talented QB and throws one of the best balls in the league. I dont think his talent should be questioned.

Saying he doesn't have the "clutch gene" is totally valid as he has yet to show that he can make plays necessary when the game is on the line.

I do think that with a better organization/coaching staff he could've had a better carrier up to this point.

And i don't agree that Harbaugh is gonna be the guy to turn it around for him/them.

Remember when he couldn’t hold a lead in the playoffs vs Jacksonville? Yup, the OC was blamed. They canned him and replaced him with Moore who allowed for Dak to put up monster numbers. Yet again Herbert couldn’t get it done. Curious how many more times Herbert will get a pass for not getting it done when it matters.

Yea, losing Williams is one thing, they've always been much better when he's healthy.

Losing Allen too?

That's similar to Pat losing Kelce, with nobody like Rice or Hollywood already on the roster.

Sure, they could draft one if they stay at 5, but I don't think they do.

How many times was he "betrayed" by turnovers and failed drives in inopportune times?
