The Broncos also gave Wilson the 3rd most gauranteed money. Only Watson and Kyler got more.

The Broncos spent a fortune on him damn

I know doing it this way makes it easier to stomach for you, but the reality is your next 2 years of Wilson (under his current contract) are 'semi-cheap', at least by today's QB standards. Better win something these next couple years because it balloons after that.

We're all aware we'll be paying Mahomes a nice amount of money the next several years. That's okay. He's 27 and still ascending.

You'll be paying 'Mahomes money' to DangeRuss in a couple years when he turns 36 midway through the 2024 season.

General Paton better be right about him . . . . . . . .

As on any huge contract, I’ll await the full contract details before making a final judgment. It will be interesting to see if the guaranteed money is all on the New Years or if any slots to the remaining 2 years on his previous deal.

In 2023, they have like 5 draft picks starting in R3... and believe they have most of their picks in 2024. So, it will be interesting what they do in 2023, but if Wilson shows in 2022 that he is top QB, it's worth it.
Here's the thing, though:

Wilson could (I don't personally think he will, but that's neither here nor there) be a Top 5 QB in the NFL in 2022 (statistically, anyway) and it likely won't even matter. The Donkos are still currently the 3rd (some would argue 4th) best team in the division. And you've got 2 years of a 'cheap' contract and then that big extension kicks in . . . . . . and Russ will be turning 36.

So unless he is going to age like Tom Brady (has anyone ever done that?), is it really 'worth it'? Time will tell, I guess . . . . . . .

Yup.

Between this and the draft picks and players they gave up to Seattle; outside of the Hershel Walker trade, this could end up being the most lopsided trade in NFL history!

And not in the way KnowMo was hoping for.

As stated before, time will tell . . . . . .

The Mahomes deal is a work of art. It's literally beautiful how team-friendly it is. And where most QB deals restrict salary cap needs for a team, the Mahomes deal is practically a bank that the team can borrow from if it needs a few million here or there.

When it first came out, guys like Florio who usually love talking semantics and legality agreements was like, "WTF is this it's incredible I've never seen anything like it before!"

Veach constructed a James Joyce novel. Paton made a ****ing pop-up book.

Andy Reid is a very good coach with some major flaws (game management, an aversion to running the ball, often fails to make good adjustments after his opening script runs out). He wins a lot of regular season games and gets his team high seeds in the playoffs, but he gets outcoached a lot once he's in the playoffs.

Denver has:

A more talented team
A much better GM
A bottomless bag of cash

Little brother will remain little brother.

Vain attempts at relevance. It’s over for the Broncos as long as Mahomes is around.

Practically every point here is wrong.

Reid finally has his generational QB. We’ll see how his postseason record looks once his time in KC is done. I won’t fault a coach for not winning Super Bowls with Alex Smith or Donovan McNabb, even though both are fine.

It’s the generational talents at QB who win multiple Super Bowls. Reid has one now, and his postseason record has been incredible ever since.

They'll find out the hard way, and I'm glad it's that way!

Andy Bad Ass Reid playoff history 19-16

He has 4 less playoff wins than your whole franchise, and three less losses He’ll have almost as many wins when this postseason is over. Yeah, he’s just ok. Lmao. Turd boy, back to the toilet.
