The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

I’m not seeing a lever for either. I see what I assume is the front brake master cylinder/reservoir but no lever. Thumb brake maybe, which is not unheard of?

was it a 13?

also maybe look to see how many 14s they have. From my understanding (just what I've heard) is they get two bikes of the following year model for every current model they sell.

Worth only had probably 3-5 '14s (I believe) and had probably 8-10 '13s sitting stagnant.

Yeah, it's a 13. They only had (1) other 13, it was yellow. They only have (1) 14-72 and it's orange.

Not at all but they are definitely different. I have several buddies who ride them and they always talk about how much they like them. I test rode one before I got my current Street Glide, wasn't the biggest fan.

For me Bat > Shark.

and, the '13 (yellow) is a standard color; so they should be jacking up the price (if they are already).

Also had both Rawhide and Worth say the 72's are the toughest to sell because it's for such a particular market/customer.

Also had the guy at Worth, when negotiating my deal, said the cost to him was like $9900; or thereabouts.

I 'think' the baser price/MSRP on the '13 is like $10.6. + $700 for the candy paint - which is right at 11.4 ish. So no ****ing idea where the hell he's getting the 12.4 number; other than trying to make a boat load on it.

Omaha, you'll be glad to know I got the 72 because it has a skinny tank.

Yes sir. Love it so far. Seat leaves a lot to be desired, but honestly, it's not all that bad. I'll be scoring a new on over the winter.

Super nimble. great power to weight ratio.
Have to baby it a bit the first 500 miles or so, but I rode a used on two weeks ago, and it'll get up and move for sure. 5th gear isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be on the highway at 70mph. I'm about 6'1", and about 240 and it hauls my fat as around with no problem.

If you like the looks of them (which is what initially drew me to them), take one for a spin. Mucho Fun.

And....I've gotten tons of looks on it. Not that it's the reason I bought it, but it's cool to see someone appreciate it. A few compliments at gas stations (which is frequent lol). My gas light came on at about 60 miles. I filled up and put about 1.4 gallons in it - so definitely have a decent window to fill up once it comes on.
