Had to put my dog down today

Hardest decision I've ever had to make.
Had him for 14 years.
Took him to the vet to see about a hematoma on his ear, turned out to be cancer.

Sorry for your loss.

We've got 14 and 13 year old dogs. I know we don't have too much time left with them.

You did the right thing, it's so hard to see them suffer especially when they want to do nothing but please you. They are part of the family and so hard to lose. They are worth every bit of pain in their passing, for the joy they bring to a family.

I'm sorry to hear that. We've lost both our dogs in the last 16 months, including July, when we had to put our girl down because she had a hemangiosarcoma on her heart.

They truly are part of the family, and a home just isn't the same without them.

Putting a pet down can wreck you emotionally when you don't expect it to. Condolences.

Horrible goddamn thing to have to do, but you had to do it. We've all been there.

Yeah, that sucks. Sry you had to go through that. But as others have said, be thankful for the good 14 years you had.

Last one I had to put down was July of last year. Hadn't planned to get another dog but the guys on CP convinced me that it was the best thing. I did and they were right.

Good grief. Very sorry to hear that.

Last January we had to put our Dog Izzy down and within 2 weeks, Whiskers cat had to be euthanized due to bone cancer. Doesn't make it any easier on you, but I can relate. They were both old animals, but it was like losing children to the wife and I.

Prayers for ya.
