Chiefs re-sign Tamba Hali
No joke. For one day. To retire a Chief.

Love Tamba. One of my all-time favourites. Played his ass off for this franchise.
Glad he is getting the recognition as he earned it. |

I wonder how many sacks Hali would've had if OTs weren't allowed to use wrestling moves on him. Right now he's tied for 53rd with Bryant Young with 89.5 sacks. I saw him get clotheslined like he was fighting Hulk Hogan, arm-barred like he was taking on Georges St. Pierre, strangled like he was a prom night whore in a Friday the 13th movie, and bizarrely they rarely called any of it. If an offensive lineman pulled his tights down and sexually assaulted the guy during a passing play, they probably would've gotten away with it.

No lie.
I dare anyone to show me a DE that was held as often as Hali was. Perks of playing on a shitty team (at the time), I guess? |

Good to see the recognition for Tamba Hali and him retiring as a Chief.
I assume NFL teams always do this sign/retire in the offseason where they have a 90 man roster limit. No need to cut a current player. Jamaal Charles retired as a Chief, May 1, 2019 Derrick Johnson retired as a Chief, May 8, 2019 Dwayne Bowe retired as a Chief, May 16, 2019 |

Kind of right if you count all draft picks and RFAs that have NOT signed their contracts. Maybe they have, but have not read that Bolton, Humphrey, Powell, Gray, Kaindoh, or Smith have signed. Also I know Pringle signed, but don't think Charvarius Ward or Andrew Wylie have signed yet.

I thought he did retire as a Chief, did he sign elsewhere after he left?
But anyways, cool! |

We sure didn't have much to get excited about back then, but this guy always showed up with some blood and guts effort
Its good to see him being honored like this, a great franchise legacy/tradition building move by the front office |

Hali got held around his throat as much as Derrick Thomas. That's impressive given how much slower Hali was. I'm pretty sure Denver players were told to just choke him out since the Refs never called it.
