Yep.. nobody cares in my office. There’s even a fridge solely dedicated to alcohol in the kitchen.

I keep a bottle of Jameson's on my filing cabinet and drink when I feel like it. I do all my work via the phone and I don't get drunk and slur so no issues.
When I go to a group lunch with people and they all start ordering ice tea, I'll order a beer and suddenly everyone says " You know what, that sounds good, I'll have a beer too". I drink 99% of the time I go to a restaurant for lunch. I'll even buy an oil can of Foster's or some other 24 large beer if I buy a sandwich or burger to bring back to the office. The cleaning lady must think I'm a drunk with all the bottles in the garbage. I don't abuse it and it's only for one job, not my part time stuff at Amazon, that shit wouldn't fly there but I do go for lunch and a beer between a double shift. |

I worked in an advertising agency, so it was pretty normal to have beer or drinks around.
One time, we were there at 3am still working, we had a client presentation of a bunch of ad campaigns the next day. We were waiting for proofreading to go through the 80-page presentation, when they were done, we'd make the proofreading changes. We passed the time by playing Rock Band (the PS3 game) in my office, drinking Kettle one out of the bottle with our shirts off. |

Drinking in uniform might send the wrong message.

I’m a goddamn simpleton and never occurred to me until she went home one day at 9. Apparently she was half through. A jack and coke. She rolled in the next day like nothing happened and they fired her. She must have been a tough bitch though. We worked some long ass hours and story is she was boozing hard for all of them. I’m not good for that. |

A whiskey and coke guy here, never worry about the when I drink, it's more about does it fit what is going on?
One of those proofs there really is a God is that ice cold beer (in the freezer) right after mowing a yard in the heat of a Cali July. The only time I drink beer. |

Only people I personally knew that had a drink at either had an office job where impressing clients was important or they were raging alcoholics.
I do think there is a time and place for anyone's career to allow them a drink. I took a short break from construction and built large acrylic reef displays. The company didnt have the capital to screw up so the owner bought me a decent bottle of whiskey to use in case I needed a little bit of nerve calming before taking the chance of ruining a 5 thousand dollar sheet of acrylic. If it doesnt adversely affect your work or put anyone in danger, drink away. |

I work from home, and I usually start around 6. Sometimes, I like to have a couple of beers at lunch, but never any liquor at lunch.

**** no.
Only when the work is done is it time to kick back. People turn into lazy pieces of shit if they drink and work on company time. I make that very clear with my employees. When they do a good job I’ll even buy them each a 30 on Friday. It motivates them more than sex. |
