Chiefs making a run at Melvin Ingram

https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2021...er-hesitation/

Should have just signed the guy when he was here. Likely have to overpay now as Pittsburgh doesn't want to trade within conference.

Given how desperate the chiefs are for ANY production up front, The Steelers might get away with extortion here.

That said, yeah, I'd take Ingram.

And then I'd poach Taco off their practice squad.

**** 'em twice.

At this point, we need bodies at DE.

I agree with this and the rebuild started this year with the O line. Which is why you play the new guys so they can develop. I'd give up this year for back to back SBs in a year or two.

I don't see how signing Ingram on the cheap would in any way impede that, unless you're talking about draft position, which is not a reason not to do things to improve your football team.

Amazing comparison.

A stud game changing LT commanding a MASSIVE contract, and a veteran pass rusher coming off injury and willing to play for peanuts.

If you cannot see how one is wildly easier to obtain than the other, you have a problem.

The cost would be draft picks. If we can sign guys or poach guys off practice squads then great but at this point keep the picks.

It ain't going to be a high pick. We're talking a day 3 pick. Who cares, really?

Either way the money was probably very comparable and he chose Pitt over us. More than likely expecting to inflate his numbers with talent around him then go try to get paid again a little in the offseason. It's not completely apples to apples, the apple decides where it wants to land in this case.

I thought I heard Petro the other day say he wanted $4 million and we only had 2 mil of cap space. He might have just been throwing out a hypothetical, I only caught part of it.

Our extremely expensive defensive line is dogshit. I'd say it's a pretty desperate situation.

That's HOF Superfan, and face of the Chiefs franchise, TY the SUPER X-Factor to us peon little fans who just show up at games in normal people clothing.

We could send X-Factor to represent their crumbling franchise and help lift them from the ruins of NFL mediocracy. Ingram and a pair of first round picks should be adequate compensation.
