Chiefs claim Eric Scott (DB, Dallas) on Waivers

[Note - Curtis Jacobs landed w/ NE]

Quote:
The Cowboys traded up to select Scott Jr in the 2023 draft.
- Scott had highly athletic traits coming from college and developed his skills from year one to two.
- Even though he had a bad penalty against the Rams in the preseason, he showed the ability to bounce back and be in perfect position for an interception in the same game.
- Scott Jr allowed a 53.2 passer rating in coverage, 4th best on the Cowboys among all secondary players.
- Scott should land on his feet quickly either in Washington with Dan Quinn or back in Dallas with the Cowboys.
- In the video below, Jon Machota points out Scott Jr had four PBUs in one-on-one drills just 5 days ago.

Cowboys just did another Charvarius Ward

Actually, didn't we trade for Ward and not just claim him?

After drafting Ehringer with the pick we got from the 49ers for trading back to 37 from 28. Where we took Chris Jones.

They took Joshua Garnett with our 1st. He started 11 games for them before washing out of the league.

So that worked out alright for us...

(and yes, I got that one quite a bit wrong)

I'm assuming we end up throwing Scott on the practice squad if/when he clears waivers, and keep both him and Jones.

But who knows.

You'd hope so.

Lot of teams have filled their PS already and may just not see adding him as worth the trouble. Sort of a musical chairs thing when it comes to PS spots.

So if the Chiefs don't have a spot for him, they kinda did him dirty.

Then again, if they waived Nic Jones to add him to the active roster, it clearly says they like him more than Jones. So should he clear waivers, it would see likely that they'd cut Jones from the PS to make room for Scott.

Wouldn't surprise me if he gets claimed this time around, though. Some team says "Hell, if Spags/Veach wanted him, there must be something there..."

Nic Jones played ST’s a lot this Summer. I bet they had Scott and Jones neck and neck and Toub got the final call due to Nic’s experience here already
