I think the FO can find a WR or two without handing out a huge contract. I agree with keeping Jones AND Sneed and seeing who else would like a ring.

If true, They ain’t keeping him. That wasn’t just a tag. They allowed his agent to talk to teams about a trade the Chiefs will be happy with and a contract that Sneed will be happy with.

I would rather keep Sneed if we can't get a first. Top corners are drafted in the top half of the draft every year. The Donks took Surtain top ten, the Jets took Sauce too 5. Sneed is worth a first round pick. I hope that if Veach trades him, that he would make it worth it

I think that's a fair argument. Honestly, you're signing Jones for the post-season. You're signing Sneed for the entire season.

Sneed and McDuffie are the best CB tandem in the NFL.

Pay the man.

Bye bye LJ, you were great! Tag and trade seems most likely outcome imo. Can’t afford Sneed and Jones. I wonder what we’ll get for him? I think a #1 is a stretch unless it’s a lower 1. 2 and something else seems more likely.

Losing either one right now is gonna suck hard, I'm just trying to see the big picture... hopefully we get lucky and keep both for a few more years

I mean we were pretty sure we thought it was coming.

The idiots on NFL Network (because again, the national media ALWAYS gets the Chiefs wrong) and some of them 'round here were saying we should/would tag Jones and let Sneed walk.

There was a thread 'round here if my memory serves.

It just never made a lick of sense.

$28 million in cap space and alot of positions need love, you need to be comfortable with Sneed or Jones, not both. They're trading Sneed, the league knows it, teams won't give them a first for Sneed so they'll have to take what they can get to get him off the books and focus on the rest of the team. I wish they would fleece someone in the 10 - 25 range as well, but teams arent' as desperate as they once were. Better to understand the reality of it instead of wishing for the stars.

I think you’re over valuing the CB position and sneed with the knee and production prior to this year. A second is likely than a 1 imo

Not that they should tag Jones, they literally can't with the $ it would cost.

All this means is they're tagging Sneed if they can't get a deal done, as expected. What are they going to say "No, we won't listen to any trade offers"?

Let Sneed's agent test the market. The agent comes back with 4 years at $18 M, Veach says sure we'll match that, would you like to stay? Sneed says sure let's run it back.

Or if the agent comes back with something insane, Veach says "Ok let's see what they're willing to trade." And if it's not good enough, you still have Sneed play it out on the tag.

I still think he signs with us long term.
