Yes, but can he block? The day I was at camp, he sure couldn't. He looked like a turnstile. Admitidely it was very early in camp, but from what I saw, he looked scary raw.

We also didn’t have a back like Pacheco when we had all that team speed before.

We had like half a season with Kareem Hunt, athletic tackles, and fast WRs. And yeah, that offense was pretty much unstoppable.

Once we traded Tyreek, we drafted Pacheco. So Pacheco has never had the benefit of an offense like this.

The happiest guy in the world is Travis Kelce because the spaces he works in are going to be so much more wide open this year.

Don't forget about Patrick's propensity to drop back 12 yards.

Watched some of last years games last night and it looks like the defense is gonna take a step back. Not a huge step back but a decent step back (still top 10), and yeah the offense improving will negate the defense not being incredible this year.

-Sneed was so good last year. Hard to think Williams, Watson or anyone can come close to what he did.
-Gay’s speed was used frequently and will be hard to replace. Chenal is fast but not that fast (esp closing speed).

Really want Spags to put Jaden Hicks in that Willie Gay role on obvious passing downs bc of his size and speed.

The decline of the defense was inevitable. Others have said it, but it bears repeating that the nature of having a top tier defense usually means its very short lived, only lasting like 1 or 2 seasons. Too many mouths to feed, not enough to go around.
As long as it's still solid, or even close to middle of the pack, I think we're fine.

What you aren't accounting for is Tranquill should be better this year, guys in year 2 always take a step up.

I don't expect much of a fall-off, if any. The defense might even be better than last year's by the end of the season.

I consider Gay to be overrated. I don't think the front office thought twice about letting him walk. Obviously they're downgrading at Sneed's position, but there's still a lot of talent in the DB room. What they lose at that position will probably be offset by improvement elsewhere. Don't forget that this is a very young defense full of players that are likely to improve this season.

Chenal is actually faster. He's the most athletic LB we've probably ever had. 9.9 out of 10 on his draft RAS score.

faster 40, faster 20 yard split, faster 10 yard split, faster 3 cone, faster shuttle.

Slower skin color. That's it.
