She flew back overnight...and when the doctors wouldn't pull the plug on me, she hung around for a couple of weeks and then went back to be with her Mom. (Seriously....she was very worried for me...but also concerned about her mom.) Luckily my daughter flew in a day after my heart attack and spent the month with me. I was never concerned about the time my wife spent away from me with her Mother. She was the baby of the family and was always close to her Mom so I had no issue with her being there for her Mom. |

My beard is at least a foot long. Love my beard blowing in the wind.

I've had the Van Dyke (mustache and chin beard) for about 20 years now. Shaved it once and my wife (who didn't want me to grow it at first) was like...grow it back. You look younger than me...
So I did. I've had it as I say for 20 years but just in the last 2 years I've let it grow longer. Like, the wind blows and it's moving in the wind. Not terribly long, but noticably longer. I tried straigtening it cuz it tends to curl to the right, but that's a pain in the ass, so I basically keep it trimmed to about 3\4 to 1 inch long. Eh. I like it. |

The Van Dyke is a sleeper, IMO. When pulled off, it can look really good.

I've been growing a beard for probably a decade. In the past 2 or 3 years I've discovered that I can't stand to keep it in the summer because it makes me too hot. Must be something about getting older. Uggh.

Not a beard guy. But in my defense, if I start now, it would take forever to make it look good. And there are bald spots. Think Cliff Claven in Cheers beard growing contest.

I’ve had a full beard for 20 years. My wife won’t let me shave it. She loves it.

Grew mine after I retired from the Army in 2007 and will probably never be clean shaven again. Most of the time keep it trimmed down to 1/2" to 3/4" but will on occasion let it go for a few months.

For a lot of my working career, for safety protocols, I could not have a beard. After moving to a position where that no longer applied I have had beards periodically. Now, my hair is a very whitish grey, and I can grow a very good Santa beard - down to the third shirt button from the top. My wife got me a Santa suit and I did a couple appearances.
Now I keep it about 3/4 to 1 inch long, nicely trimmed. Instead of shaving every day, I only have to clean up the neck line a couple times a week. |
