I also think if we tested for influenza like we're doing for Covid, we'd find a shit **** ton of asymptomatic people and everyone would freak out.

I haven't seen the reasoning anywhere.
This seems reasonable. I've also wondered if it's so that they can shorten turn around times for those that are symptomatic. |

Almost all of the contract tracing studies coming out are finding negligible asymptomatic spread.
But i think it's also kind of murky how many true no symptom pts there are. |

Good point and yeah people may think they are asymptomatic but probably do have some minor ones they may not have noticed like their sinuses bothering them or something.
