Oh yeah. I agree with that. But he doesn't see the game well enough to take full advantage of his ridiculous athleticism.

It is just so damn disappointing that he turned out to only be a serviceable college player. if he'd have developed, he could have been an absolute monster and a matchup nightmare.

Actually, where I think KU could utilize him a little more is on the front end of a press. Miraculously, he seems to be fairly intelligent up there and gives dudes a hell of a hard time up there. I'd love to see KU throw a random press out there and try to steal a couple possessions, especially against the teams that flow well like OU and ISU. Breaking up their rhythm even if they don't get steals would be huge by itself. We'd need to be sure we didn't get thunder dunked on, but I wish they'd try it for a possession now and then.

Can't remember the article, but NBA scouts have already said that about Diallo, fwiw. That he should stay another year. Not sure where Diallo is leaning at this point but sophomore bigs under Self have always made a huge jump (the scouts were actually the ones in the article to point that out). And there's nothing wrong with staying another year or two. As Self has stated before on the subject when Hield was brought up, "it doesn't make you not cool to stay more than one year" purely mocking the agents that are in these guys' ears at this time every year. Staying can actually help you. But I nor anyone shouldn't be upset if Diallo decides to leave. It's his choice.

Well there is injury and backsliding in the draft. 1st is a risk for him, no way the 2nd happens. He can do nothing but improve his draft stock.

Ellis is now 9th overall in KenPom's POTY standings (Hield and Valentine are clear 1 and 2, Niang 10). His Big 12 "all-KenPom" team currently consists of Hield, Ellis, Niang, Williams, and Mason.

It's too bad our budding rivalry with ISU is dead after this year. It was fun for the short time they were decent.

Rumor going around that Travis Ford is done after this year. Their fans have already been making some noise for Gottlieb to coach them.
