Well, projecting 9 wins is like picking the middle spot - it's a safe bet and if you're off by 1-2, no big deal. So, why not... I'm throwing 10 out there and it's not a high ceiling, it's not like I think that 12-13 is a real possibility with the division and overall schedule.

Just for kicks, here's my initial prognostication for the schedule... projecting a divisional split and would imagine that's likely the case with each of these teams. Timing plays a role in some of this, but all in all... I can see 10 wins realistically.

Home
Chiefs (W), Chargers (W), Raiders (W), Texans (W), Colts (W), Cardinals, 49ers, Jets (W)

Away
Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Rams, Titans (W), Seahawks (W), Ravens, Panthers (W), Jaguars (W)

And few things surprise me anymore... the division is tough and they have a lot of good teams to play. New coaches, QB, etc are definitely not to be dismissed. It will take some time to implement the new pieces. They could definitely fall short and only hit 8 wins. They could win more and still finish 3rd. It is what it is.

It's a projection... curious, what do you see? Where exactly did I jump the shark? Outside of Denver beating KC of course. Denver beat the Chargers in Denver last season.

Just giving you crap...and you very well may split with the Bolts. I don't see you beating us though.

I don't think a win @ Tenn is very realistic. They've built a pretty damn good defense and should still have a solid offense even without Brown. Last year they had the most injuries in the league and still got the #1 seed.

Wilson could work out, but it could go totally sideways too. It's not hard to envision a scenario in which they struggle (record-wise) in year 1, implementing new systems/QB and facing a tough schedule. 12 of those games are vs legit teams, and even Carolina might be tough if they trade for Mayfield.

And then they're going to have to give Wilson a big payday as he's hitting his mid-30s and losing athleticism, with no top draft picks this year or next to build the roster cheaply.

He took 43 sacks last year in 14 games...Donks ranked bottom 5 in pass protection. This is the stat combination that is going to make or break their season...I dont think they even know who their RT is.

In 158 games, Wilson has taken 427 sacks...almost 3 a game average.

So with a new system and new WRs...he'll likely hold the ball longer than in the past. I think most people would take the Metcalf/Locket combination over Sutton/Jeudy...

Like I said in an earlier post...his mobility is starting to decline. That was a big part of what made Wilson what he was...

Russel Wilson took 33 sacks (not 43) in 2021. Still a lot, but just clarifying, it was Zach Wilson with 44 last season.

Yeah...Denver fans seem to think he's still in his prime, but there's even an Athletic article about his declining athleticism. Which is more important for him than many other QBs.

In a short season too. He's the most-sacked QB over the last 7 years.

And Seattle's pass block win rate was exactly the same as Denver's last year.

I don't know that is necessarily true regarding expectations. Sure, there are your fanboys that think 27 year old Wilson is strolling into Denver.

Last 3 years, Wilson is still the 2nd most sacked QB in that span while throwing for the 4th most TDs behind Brady, Rodgers and Mahomes. And, he's 8th in wins with 2021 being the worst year.

In his prime? No way... still good and worth the investment? I think so and one way or another, we're about to find out.

Actually, you are correct...first time I've had to say that in a while. The stat site listed Wilson twice with a green graph.
