Some of the difference in K rate was the players they brought in. Chris Carter and Luis Valbuena started for the 15 team and were both huge K guys. They moved away from those types of players.
But yeah, that probably wasn’t all of it. Man. What a tough look for the Astros and the whole front office. The unfortunate thing is my favorite prospect guy - Kevin Goldstein - who worked for them got burned today. He’s the exec behind the emails asking the scouts to videotape opposing dugouts for sign stealing. |

There is prominent video of them keying in on Kershaw’s signs during Game 5 of the World Series.
There is no way this can be swept under the rug. Lifetime bans or losing a title is where we should be at right now. |

I don't see it happening. It's like the steroid era home run records. Everybody "knows" it happened, but MLB doesn't officially acknowledge it in their record keeping. This will be the same way. Everybody is going to "know" it happened, but if MLB doesn't acknowledge it, then it doesn't really matter....but man do I hope I'm wrong and Manfred strips them of the WS win and hands out some lifetime bans.

Here's the image immediately after the game while they're taking the monitor down:

@Feinsand: The Athletics have added RHP
Daulton Jefferies to their 40-man roster. To clear a spot, the club designated RHP Jharel Cotton for assignment. Royals should be on this. |

@FlannyMLB: The Royals have added Nick Heath, Carlos Hernandez, Jeison Guzman and Foster Griffin to the 40-man roster to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft. To make room, the Royals have DFAd Jorge Bonifacio, Nick Dini, Conner Greene and Arnaldo Hernandez. No real surprises.

And they give up on Bonifacio so they can bring back a declining Gordon.

The Padres left Ruiz unprotected. I’m a bit surprised.
