No, you guys target the seemingly misplaced backup with tons of upside. I think Denver is going to start looking for the aging former champion looking for one last victory lap.

Well, we did have Montana, but no one else has bit since.

We'll workout a deal for Assweiler as you guys sign Brees.

Makes sense.

Yep. Once you're used to having a HOF QB mask weaknesses, bail you out week to week and elevate the talent around him, you get spoiled - both as a team and a fan base. After Brees, it will probably be Aaron Rogers...

By then, KC will probably be eying Blaine Gabbert...
(kidding of course but...)

No, first Osweiler has to go to SF before we can pick him up. That's the true Chiefs way.

Which puts you into position of possibly taking Kaepernick, but that's almost too easy... so, yeah, looks like they'll have to part ways with him by signing Brock. Then, by 2018, KC is ready to cut loose of Smith and by that time Brock has enough street cred for Andy to give it one final year before the banners are printed.

And, by that time... yes, Brees is on his way out of Denver and a 35 year old Aaron Rodgers is on his way to Denver. Or, maybe a 37 year old Eli ... or Big Ben, maybe Rivers.

Dude, the more you break it down like that, it really shows that the QB future for Denver in this philosophy is bright and the talent pool is pretty nice. That's a steady stream of elite QBs from now through 2020? Fantastic!

Brees has the same foot injury as Manning. It looks like Brees will become Manning 2.0 soon.

They are different injuries. Drew's is completely torn and Manning had/has a tear. It impacts your ability to push off on your foot to throw. With Mannings declining ability it makes throwing the football even more difficult. Same with hitting a golf ball or throwing a baseball. you have to use the ground to fight gravity.
