*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

It may not be the reason but the offense does seem to be a lot more efficient without Toney and Skyy seeing the field.

You could tell they were super relaxed and playing with house money, though. It showed up in MVS and Kelce, and of course Mahomes. Even Rice seemed extremely cool for his first road playoff action.

I think that might even go double for next week now that they got this under their belts.

Just go out there and have FUN.

I think it's at least part of the reason.

Simplified playbook is probably helping Rice as the rookie guy. It probably doesn’t hurt Mahomes either. Focus on plays that the guys are confident in running.

I hope Andy will ditch the trick plays in the next game. They’ve had 2 disaster fumbles on trick plays recently. Just don’t bother with that stuff.

They were setting up the trick plays with the fakes to Hardman.

Ironically that stuff seems far more useful as a fake than actually giving a ball to the man running the fake action.

I think it opened up holes for Pop.

There is just way too much traffic near the LOS vs this offense these days for most of the gadget plays to be that useful anymore. We can't even run pop passes or end arounds.

This is why people were saying that Mahomes was part of the problem on offense. He played at an MVP level tonight and the offense was dominant. I'm at the point that the regular season means jack shit other than getting enough wins to get into the playoffs and win the AFCW. Mahomes turns it on when it matters.

Nah WRs gotta still make their catches. It didn’t end up mattering in Miami because their defense laid an egg but mecoles missed opportunity left an absurd amount of yards and points off the board.

We need to stretch the field. The big difference maker was Mvs. Simple ask is to catch a ball past 10 yards and Mvs finally delivered a good game. He just might be our offense Frank clark. When we don’t it completely changes our offensive approach because defenses start baiting us. I also don’t know what they did to kelce, and maybe it is that the past 2 games we’ve been more effective at slinging it deep (even if mecole can’t catch the damn ball) but he was WAY more effective running intermediate routes.

We needed a mistake free game and we mostly got it. We know that a few mistakes that put us behind too much or stalling too much and mahomes would’ve rightfully so started pressing

23 passes thrown, so not statistically one of his best. BUT overall one of the best games he's played in his career. Just laser sharp.

This was the deep throw to MVS. 2 free rushers in his face and he steps up and makes the throw. Insane
