The most interesting article on Covid-19 you will read/see today....

Why Outbreaks Like Covid-19 Spread Exponentially, and How to "Flatten the Curve"

Really fascinating simulations in there if you are a math geek....

Starting Monday KU Med will limit visitors to two per patient. Children under 14 will not be allowed at all. This is what will be in line with the other area hospitals.

To give a little perspective, I've compared the number of confirmed cases in the US at two different time stamps today at the John Hopkins Covid-19 tracking website: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashb...23467b48e9ecf6

At 7:13:05 PM today there were 2,726 confirmed cases in the US.

At 9:33:03 PM today there were 2,929 confirmed cases in the US.

That is a 7.4% increase in the number of confirmed cases in the US in a little more than 2 hour time span. Part of that increase is due to (somewhat) increased testing, but still....

I won't, but I really wish it was an option. My job is just too much in the stone-age to think outside the box.

Probably not a good idea right now. With the economic contraction that is coming, there will be a lot of folks out of work pretty soon.

If I recall correctly, you work with folks with special needs, correct? In all likelihood your organization will implement special precautions because many in that population have a lot of underlying medical conditions as well. You'll probably be safer at work than pretty much any place else.

How many people are going to self-report under these conditions? The former head of Eli-Lily just told congress that tests and vaccines are going to remain very expensive. The drug industry is seeing massive $$$ over this.

Good luck rolling the dice and finding out what your insurance covers and what it doesn't. A friend of mine just got a surprise bill for $10k a year after his kid was in the NICU. The hospital was in network but a doc working the floor wasn't (billed as an independent contractor of course). Lot's of people who think they have great insurance will find out they don't.
The title of this thread is literally "NON-POLITICAL COVID-19 DISCUSSION". How ****ing hard is it to read?!? There are several threads in the D.C form to post this. Leave it out of here and nobody else will post about the disasters of single payer healthcare either.
