Considering he believes that Dorsey and Ballard are the reason for Mahomes, you probably know his answer.

Knowmo, do you know what a Director of Player Personnel typically does in an NFL front office?

I know their duties can vary from team to team, but typically, if you're an NFL GM and you want to scout a QB, would you send your Director of Player Personnel out to Lubbock, TX to do the job?

It's just a title, and Dorsey and Ballard are close. Why wouldn't Dorsey ask one of his confidants and his Director of Football Ops to take a live look at a guy he believed could be his future franchise QB?

Veach is the most aggressive and creative GM in the league. He's also top 5 in drafting and arguably the best at evaluating talent. He single handily revamped the defense to win a super bowl, brought Mahomes to Reid and Dorsery's attention, signed him to an EXTREMELY team friendly contract that ensures he's ours for a decade, and has just given him a top 5 oline with 3 rookies.

Ballard is solid, but he's already shown that he is of that dated old school thought process of build your team first and then get your QB. It doesn't work very often. Its the philosophy that gets you to 7-10 wins but never anything more. Denver find themselves in that position now. Its not enviable and I feel sorry for fans of teams who have to go through that - Chiefs fans know it well. Just enough talent to get your hopes up.

Hope you stay around past midseason this year knowmo!

Never thought he'd have to resort to fanfic about how Veach had nothing to do with Mahomes and it was all Dorsey and Ballard. What a pathetic loser

Fun fact: Dorsey and Harold Bartle Roe (obviously decades apart) went to the same school in Virginia. I also went to school there.

I hope this crazy rumor happens. Bat shit insane.

Lock, and two firsts for Matt Ryan before the regular season.

Hopefully he retires the next year when he figures out how shitty Denver is.

I can understand the need to fabricate a narrative in which Veach played little or no part in bringing Mahomes to KC. How will Denver's GM ever be able to compete with that?

Veach could retire now and be far more accomplished than Paton will ever be.

Now that would be hilarious. They'd be giving up way too much, it would eliminate them from contention for Rodgers and Watson, and they still wouldn't be able to match the Chiefs.

Sounds exactly like a Denver thing to do.

Actually there is truth to the Donks being the new Browns...only the Jets have a longer post-season drought.

NY just got a new QB...one most people thought was the best in this class and a new HC. They are at least a year ahead of the Donks in their rebuild.

The race to being the top bottom-feeder franchise is on...at least this is an achievable goal for them.
