I mean, I get that is was a 'survey' of agents. And that's fine, they can feel however they want about front office personnel. But I look at results.

And it's hard to argue with the results on the field. Since Veach became GM, we have gone to 3 straight AFC Title games, back to back Super Bowls and a trophy to boot. He completely overhauled the defense in one off-season. He did everything he could to 'fix' the mess that was our O-Line this off-season. Did it work? Time will tell. But at least he is proactive in making changes. Drafting is mixed results, but he and his scouts have found some really good players in later rounds (Sneed, for example).

And he was always the #1 guy pounding the table to 'draft Mahomes', even though it wasn't HIS decision to make at the time.

And for THAT the KC fanbase will always been indebted to him and for having the foresight of seeing what MOST other NFL people couldn't. Mahomes was NOT a highly regarded prospect initially in inner NFL circles. Only a few guys really knew about him and only a couple were REALLY sold on him and what he could become. Veach was one of those.

That ALONE should make him a Top 5 GM, ignoring all the other stuff he has done as well.

So all that to say, you can have Paton . . . . . . . . . I'll take the guy that is primarily responsible for us having Mahomes (which is the BIGGEST difference between where KC is at this point and where Denver currently resides)

Criticizing Veach is beyond stupid.

In one offseason, he transformed the worst defense in the league into a championship-caliber D, dropping some of its best players in the process. Hired a great coaching staff top to bottom.

What he did to the offensive line seemed unfathomable at the start of the offseason. To have the roster they have now, given the cap situation they started in, is impressive.

He's routinely found great bargain FAs.

And, of course, the Chiefs wouldn't have Mahomes without Veach's tireless obsession and lobbying.

The only thing you can knock him for is his first draft. Since then, they've been solid and would look better if he'd had more than one first round pick.

Remember when we had $177 and Veach was still able to resign Mahomes to the largest contract ever along with Kelce and Jones? Musta been all Ballard and Dorsey.

Knowshit is such a fraud. He would suck Warpaints dick at midfield to have a GM like Veach. Wtf has Paton done? Lmao? There’s gonna be yet ANOTHER HC change in Dungver after this season. Lockweiler, and Brokedick Bridgewater are the worst qb combo in the league. Like worse than Cam and Jones, lmao. Gave Bolles one of the highest LT contracts in the league, despite him having only one decent season (which happened to be the season the refs stopped calling as much holding), and the guy is playing LT and is smaller than our 6th round RG rookie. Knowshit is a clown.

George Paton is the reincarnation of Carl Peterson.

Pass on risky QBs. Draft some great defensive players with your top 10 picks. Keep passing on risky QBs and let the whole thing slowly collapse over the next 10 years.

Have fun with that, Knowmo. Teddy Bridgewater is your Steve DeBerg. Treasure these next few years of "just not good enough" because that's the best you're gonna be for the next 20 seasons.

The Chiefs won a bunch of games with Steve ****ing Bono and Elvis Grbac.

Ballard has no ****ing excuse for not getting the job done with Jacoby Brissett.

Not only is Veach a genius for the Mahomes pick, but he's also a genius for the Mahomes contract.

That thing is a work of ****ing art. You can keep revisiting it after years and years and every time you'll end up appreciating something about it that you didn't see before.

It gives Mahomes his clout. Most people are still fooled into thinking that Mahomes is the highest QB earner each season and that KC is constantly short on funds. It's essentially the Bank of Mahomes. Veach can borrow from it whenever he needs to if there's a reasonably smallish move to acquire a player that will put us over the top.

That's not even close to being the case with other top QB contracts. Those contracts are legit serious albatrosses on their team's cap. Mahomes' contract is expensive, sure, but if you plan ahead, you can get it to work for you instead of against you.

Let's see George Paton come up with a contract like that.

Best he can do is two fully guaranteed 3-year deals to Kirk ****ing Cousins.

Enjoy your GM, Knowmo. We'll enjoy ours. And win Super Bowls while you get all that great draft value on those amazing defensive players that will barely register a blip on winning you more games or being successful in the playoffs.

Veach wasn't the decision maker. Mahomes wasn't hidden. Texas Tech isn't some obscure college. Veach may well have liked him, but Dorsey sent Ballard to go watch his games and Dorsey was the one who was making the calls to ensure he got his guy. Dorsey and Reid made the decision, not Let's Reach

That's the first time I've ever heard somebody giving our former director of pro personnel credit for scouting Mahomes in college.

Probably because it's ****ing incorrect.

And you guys have only paid 2% of it over the last two years.

Mahomes' contract is going to hit your salary cap eventually, and continuing to push it out is only going to make it more painful when it does hit.

Luckily for you, it doesn't look like Denver is ever going to have to worry about paying a star QB.

Veach found him years before he was a first rd pick and pushed him on Andy. Dorsey may have been the GM who authorized the trade up for him but Andy is the one who worked with the Bills coach for several years.
