*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Man, I don't want to hear ANYTHING that suggests another QB is better for the next 10-15 years. That **** is over and done until Pat decides to do something else.

look at that throw

he intentionally throws it sidearm under fat guy's armpit because he knows he's going to RAISE his hand to block a throw from a normal release point

99% of QBs are trying to loft that ball and it gets picked or sails out of bounds

Know how many times I saw Alex Smith get that shit batted right back into his face? Too god damn many. I bet Mahomes is by far the lowest on batted balls. It rarely happens.

Ok I figured it up.

Patrick Mahomes had 8 of his 648 pass attempts batted down, so good for 1.23%. Out of the 32 QBs with the most passing attempts that put him at 4th behind

#1 - Stafford - 303 Att/3 Batted Balls/0.99%
#2 - Mariota - 300 Att/3 Batted Balls/1%
#3 - Prescott - 394 Att/4 Batted Balls/1.01%

I know the percentages are a little bit less, but I think Mahomes is more impressive. The fact that he had
over double the amount of throws as the #1 and #2 guys and 250 more than #3 just means Mahomes had a shit more opportunities to get the ball knocked down. Plus pass rushers knew he was gonna throw, so they tried their damnedest to knock the ball down.

Nice find/ In game. live, it just looked like another throw. But, as we can see in this clip, the talent needed to pull that off.....

If you had asked me prior to that Texans win in the 2015 season that we'd win 12 playoff games by the 2023 season, I would have called you nuts. I didn't know what ONE was, let alone 12 of them.

And looking back, it doesn't even seem like 12. It seems like 6 or 7. I think that's what happens when you make deep playoff runs into the Super Bowl. You start thinking of the streaks rather than the individual games themselves.

That first throw is just laughable. Side arm shortstop throw just an absolute freaking missle.

Exactly. They have won more playoff games under Mahomes than the rest of their history combined.

Yeah TV doesn't do it justice. You need the Madden front-to-back angle to realize what Mahomes is doing is actual witchcraft and sorcery.

How did anyone question his release? I remember folks trying to prop up Watson by saying that he had some hyper-quick release and could make up for a relative lack of arm strength with it.

But lord man, how can anyone have a quicker, better release than Mahomes? That 2nd play is just maelstrom, find Chiefs jersey, ball out immediately.

I love it when he's impressed by himself. When he knows "oh **** yeah - that was awesome..."

Just look at his swagger when he slings that ball out of there. He knows that was some good shit.

That video is another example of how he didn't trust the tackles most of last year. Look at how he's leaving the pocket at first sign of stress and where said stress is coming from.

I think the tackle upgrades are gonna be huge.

Trying my best to enjoy this unicorn bc I’m going to be so goddamned depressed when he’s done.

Nobody could possibly live up to him in the slightest. Feel sorry for the poor bastard that is our next QB in (hopefully) 15 years
