By the way, what were our projections for Denver this year? I had them at 7-9 wins right and you were like 5-6?

I’m not proclaiming they’ll knock KC from their perch anytime soon, but the arrow is pointing up more than it has this time of year in previous seasons.
What you are describing is part of the deal when you're a fan of a losing team. You're supposed to feel that way - its called hope. Then the years start adding up and you're still feelig that way...
At no point did you mention coaching and Fangio is JAG wearing the headset. He's not taking that team anywhere, no matter the make up.

That's right because I was talking about wins and when I read that in the prior post, I thought you were giving a range of 6-10 wins.

Yeah, there's still hope... and in the grand scheme of things, this 3 year under .500 skid is nothing really. It's not on the scale of the Lions or Browns historically. Sure, it could be - anything is possible, I just don't see it happening in Denver. Call me naive, a blind homer or whatever, that's the stance.

Fangio and the coaches definitely have had some confusing moments, but I think this year more than others has been the worst kind of transition year possible. Never once under Vance did I think that he or the team had a positive arrow up going forward. I'm not suggesting these guys are going to compete for the division title consistently going forward, but the direction is better and that's in part because they're drafting better.

It's a world of mediocrity and suck right now and I'll be curious to see how they fight in the final two games. They can finish with 2 wins and that is the best path forward for them to close the season and leave things for the offseason.

Sutton is a nice piece of the puzzle. He was a great pick.

Sutton is a very nice piece to the puzzle and I think Fant can be as well. They need a good WR2 via FA, Hamilton and Patrick are food for 3&4.

Yeah Fant is looking good with Lock throwing the ball. Flaccid and the other QB what's his name didn't use him much. What happened to that other tight end? The one that Knowshit thought was better than Kelce last season but he got hurt? Is he still on the team or even in the NFL?

Jake Butt... lots of talent, injury riddled.

Interesting trivia here: John Elway selected TE Jake Butt with the 145th pick of the 2017 NFL draft. San Francisco selected TE George Kittle with the 146th pick.

Sorry, I'm not intending to be cruel, but I saw a chance to diss John Elway and I'm obligated to take it. I hope you understand.

I had them third in the division (IIRC most of the ESPN/FoxSports guys did as well), only because DEN began the season with what looked like a better defense and run game.

The Chargers and Raiders imploding in the same season hadn't occurred to me.
