We all would have preferred had Berry done this last preseason, right?

I wouldn't want any of those QBs to build around...they tank this year and get a new QB next year. It kind of worked out for them...all things considering. They have a ton of cash and a young roster. |

The league has to be very worried about the future of the product.
Luck was one of its brightest stars. One of the faces of football. They need as many “Andrew Lucks” as they can get because of the age of so many star quarterbacks... Manning Rivers Brady Rodgers Brees Rothlisberger Even guys like Matt Ryan are getting up there in age...Russ and Stafford aren’t far behind. The NFL needs an influx of talent at the QB position, but so many of the arm talents go to other sports nowadays. |

Andrew Luck always struck me as just a little TOO perfect of a pro QB prospect. I was like, "Nobody is THAT perfect of a #1 overall pick." I didn't want to hate him. I want to like successful people. I wanted to root for him. But he was drafted by the wrong team. A team who tanked to get him. A team who will yet again probably shrug their shoulders and say, "Whoops! We had a really bad team I guess! It's a shame we were so terrible that we had the mathematically worst record in the NFL! Oh look... Trevor Lawrence is available at #1 overall! But yeah... a real shame about all that losing we did!" **** you. And **** your shitty ****ing team. **** your owner and his coke-addled brain. Mother****er is a terrible ****ing human being who knows nothing about achieving something with your life, and yet he owns an NFL team who gets unlucky at JUST THE RIGHT TIME. That's not being a well-run franchise with good ownership. That's shitty ownership that uses its timed luck to not be the Cleveland Browns. When the Colts drafted Luck, I silently cursed them in my head. I cursed Andrew Luck. I said, "Let this poor soul suffer a horrible fate in his NFL career. Let sorrow and pain be his mistress. May he carry the burden of that sorrow until it becomes unbearable, and may the rest of the team suffer for it!" I've never been more glad to see a mother****er get his body broken so badly he just has to call it quits on the NFL. Luck didn't deserve this. But you certainly did. Your entire fanbase did. And your team did. You're all guilty. You know nothing about real winning. Or honor. Your shitty ****ing team was always going to be a huge ****ing farce no matter how well they did. You should be glad and thankful that the asterisk has been removed. But you still have a looooong way to go, mother****er. You will never fully be cleansed of your sins as a Colts fan, but you can at least travel a path of relative penance. And it starts now. Next stop: QB purgatory. Enjoy your stay, biiiiiiiiiiitch! AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! |

Sounds like Luck realized he would be fighting this injury all year and would likely need surgery. Retiring now doesn't hurt the Colts any more than trying to be a tough guy all year just to ride the bench. It sucks for all involved, but if he was really ****ing the team over I don't think the owner, GM, and HC would show for the emotional press conference and show obvious support. Jim Irsay was effusive in his praise for the guy. I'd be heartbroken if I were a Colts fan, but there's no evidence here that he screwed anyone over. Good for the Chiefs or not, this kinda sucks. He was a fun guy to watch when he could stay healthy.

There is no "courage" in Andrew Luck passing up future salaries he might earn by stringing this out.
His net worth is over $100 million and who knows how much daddy has. He decided to make easy street easier. That's all this is. |
