They may lose, but not like they did tonight. Im betting they play much better. The schedule makers didn't do them any favors though, playing Baylor then back-to-back road games against Tech and OU.

It's been pretty clear for a while now that any chance this team had of winning the B12 ended with Arterio. Timberlake isn't fit to be on this roster whatsoever and Elmarko is as raw as it gets.

This is a bottom tier Self team but with a very high peak level. Just gotta hope they can show that peak level for 6 games in March (and that everybody gets healthy by then).

Really the biggest disappointment is Elmarko. Hes a McDonalds All American and he looks like a freshman at Fresno State. He had some pull up jumpers that were nice last night but he doesn't seem to have any feel for the game. Cant shoot at all and is very undersized as a 2 guard.

KJ has also just completely fallen off the map in rebounding. This is an unbelievable stat: in 4 games against Yale Wichita state OU and UCF he had 38 rebounds. It looked like he had figured something out and could be reasonably counted on to get some boards. In his last 9 games he has 31 rebounds combined. He had as many rebounds as Timberlake last night playing 7 more minutes. You can't have no depth and a four who can't rebound.

Having a 6 foot power fowards with limited athletic ability and skillset score 31 points on you is what i would point to as being the biggest issue. This team just has difficulties guarding, which has been a staple of the Self era... they defend well. This year the Jimmy's and the Joe's are struggling to adapt. Mr. All-American Hunter-D might be the worst offender of all.

He's never been a good rebounder but it's gotten even worse this year (which can likely be attributed again to these guys having to play ridiculous amounts of minutes because they don't have a single bench player good enough to play at this level).

I'm holding out hope that everyone is healthy going into the dance. There you only have to win 2 games at a time before you get a week off. If they stay out of foul trouble, they've already shown they have the horses to make it work against high level competition.

The potential outcomes have such high variance. I could totally see them losing handily in the second round, and I can also see them making the Final 4.
