Breeland gone...can Ward be next...please?

Breeland was at least a physical corner. He also rarely got out ran. 35 has neither of those attributes and is somehow STILL on this team. Look at any stat tracker for defensive holding and defensive PI and who's names are front and center? Breeland and Ward. They are drive extenders. Ward NEVER turns his head around. Anyone who has spent ANY time at ANY practice has heard coaches repeatedly say once the ball is in the air, play the ball...not the man. I am positive Ward has been ill for everyone of those practices since Pop Warner. Stated simply, he is slow, cannot help himself from holding and lacks basic football knowledge of how to play the position. I am constantly amazed at how he stays employed at all as an NFL player. I am hoping beyond hope that Sneed takes Breeland's job and we find ANYONE to take 35s spot. I do not care who the Chiefs do or do not get to rush the passer, as long as 35 is in the game, 3 and 5 or longer is almost automatic for the opposing offense.

You want to drop a starter from a position group that already has questionable depth? Seems like a brilliant move.
Except that Ward is not very solid.

Wow, where did this reerun come from?

Ward is cheap, young, and pretty decent. Why get rid of him?

Veach acquired him in a trade for freaking Parker Ehinger. They have paid him next to nothing and he’s been a solid to above average starter his whole time here at a premium position.

Transactions like that are the reason Veach has been able to keep all our superstars and why we are the best run team in football. Moves like that are what makes a great GM and organization.

So who's gonna play CB for KC?

Y'all really wanting Sneed to be a #1 CB...I think Sneed has the chance to be good, but sample size is pretty small and I just don't think he's ready to match up vs the leagues best CB's yet.

Maybe he surprises us all and really takes the next step this yr. He started off good til he got injured, but after Sneed and Ward who else is there? Everyone's hoping that Hughes and Baker gonna get past the inj bug and live up to their high draft status. I just don't think that's something Chiefs should be relying on if history tells us anything.

Wards not great but he's pretty good, above average. He gets a lot of calls but then again I've noticed SEVERAL that were bullshit calls. Yes it would be nice to uprade but thats true at most positions. He's not our weakest link. Spags has the ability to cover the field with safeties to negate some of our weaknesses in the secondary. Between Sneed,Fenton ,Thornhill ,Mathieu , Sorenson we're fine until injuries occur.
