Shit man, I filled up at $2.59 in Tempe yesterday. Apparently I need to drive another 5 minutes north (or 30 minutes west...).

Yep, it was the best of times.

I got a buck a week for an allowance, I was living high on the hog.

I would save at least a buck a month so at the end of the month.....

What sucked was that ****ing gum was usually up against my fav card in a pack, it was uncanny.

That comic is from 2002.

Best of times? You really think pre civil rights days were the best of times?

Gas next to my house was 1.53 last night...drove to a friend across town 15 minutes away and saw it for 1.37. Across the river in Council Bluffs I saw it for 1.62 this morning. I've never seen such vast differences in such a small area...what the hell gives?

$1.38 at the QT by my place last night. Donger always said it depends on what the station paid for the gas or some shit, so maybe those places hadn't replenished with the cheaper round yet. Although I still think that's bullshit because when it goes up, all the mother****ers raise it at the same time.

Cost is the basic formula. QT employees have to check competitors every shift and adjust prices accordingly, though. Or at least they used to. I have no clue what gas margins are these days, but I'm guessing they're a lot better than they were in the 80s.

Most of the time it’s take 10-12 cents and be happy, but everyone seems to be pocketing the profits right now.

Gas tax. And prepare yourself for Inslee to try to raise it again since they aren't getting the revenues right now.

QT's typical return on a gallon of gas sold is 3 cents.
