The Chiefs Offense has 3 (maybe 4 or more) on their way to the Hall of Fame.

Hall of Fame Trajectory: Mahomes, Kelce, Hill
Possible Hall of Famer: LeSean McCoy (Terrell Davis made it with 4 good seasons), Schwartz (Needs to continue to be All Pro for a few more seasons to be in the conversation)
Way too early to tell either way: Thompson, Hardman

Agree with your first few categories. I love the upside of Thompson and Hardman but they don’t even qualify yet for a mention of any sort in a HOF thread.

That’s why I put them in the “too early category”.

If either ends up being a Hall of Fame talent, they’re in the perfect offense to show what they can do. Reid and Mahomes will get the most out of both, whatever their ceiling is.

Then you have to put every rookie in the NFL in that category. That’s technically correct but I’d rather let them get a few seasons under them and then see.

If he can stay out of trouble, he has the perfect QB for him. I can see him out stating Bob Hayes and Lynn Swann both in the HOF.

The 1969 Chiefs had 6 HOFers on defense. 2 at each level.

2 DL: Buchanan & Culp
2 LB: Bell & Lanier
2 DB: Thomas & Robinson

That was a team for the ages ...

On several occasions, Lenny has said that the Miami loss broke that team and they were never able to recover. I've never understood what he meant by that ... so if anyone knows, please share.

As for the defense ... for a while, I thought we were on our way to creating a similar roster with Houston, Hali, Berry, and Poe but it never materialized.

It broke several of us fans, too. It was the last game at old Muni, on Christmas Day, and the game was blacked out locally. I remember going over to one of my dad's neighbors to watch it. He had a 30' amplified rotating antenna. We kept having to rotate the thing because we kept losing the signal from Pittsburg, Ks and would have to tune in to some station in Nebraska. When we'd lose that signal, back to Pittsburg. I remember the team just standing on the field for several minutes after the game. I don't know if it was shock or just plain exhaustion, but they never were the same again.

Buck Buchanan was also prominently on screen in the M*A*S*H movie, though he had no speaking role. And Fred Williamson was the star running back with a speaking role.
