That sucks, I liked him in the movie Virus with Jamie Lee Curtis when Donald went crazy and turned into a robot, it is a pretty bad movie but I enjoyed it

His fire fiend character in Backdraft was excellent. He nailed every role I saw him in and his narrator voice was always awesome in any movie.

Got to briefly work with him a few years ago on “The Undoing”. Dude was a total pro even at his advanced age. And I’ll never forget how tall he was and how much “presence” he had. The cameras would roll, he’d stand up straight, and damn…. Must’ve been at least 6’3”.

Wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. His range was incredible and seemingly effortless playing between wide genres. A colossal talent whose loss will definitely be felt. RIP.

He was a stoner type in that film also. I'm glad he didn't get type cast into directors thinking this is all he can do.

He played a hippie before it came into style.

Highly recommend, for anyone who has never seen it, checking out "Don't Look Now"...

My first exposure to Sutherland was as a kid when dad bought the WWII movie The Eagle Has Landed. I’ve been a fan ever since.
