I read somewhere that Fenton only averaged about 10 snaps a game, so it's doubtful that he'll start this season. He's going to be a situational CB again, but he did make some nice plays last season so maybe he gets a little more work this time around.

If the right CB is there at 32 we will draft a starting CB.

Eventually you have to make it work, even if that means trading future draft picks. The needs at cb/lb are enough that if we get through the draft with the normal "the board didn't fall our way so we didn't take one until the 5th round" again we're in trouble.

Did all the free agent CB's and lbs get signed? Because if not, we'll be alright. And then there will be veterans cut in the lead up to the regular season. Dont force a need, it can be solved another way.

Thank God Jimmy G. was the incarnate of every Chiefs game manager QB for the past 30 years and missed Sanders on 3rd and 10, otherwise Fenton would have been immortalized in the fandom for covering the wrong receiver on that play.
When the stakes were just as high on our offense, Mahomes buried the curse and roasted Sherman and no one will ever let him forget it (especially not Revis Island). |

We've reached, even traded up, for trash like Breeland Speaks before, why not a corner? Not to mention, look at some of the corners taken after Speaks in the 2nd round of 2018. Guys like Isaiah Oliver, Donte Jackson, and Carlton Davis have all shown varying levels of promise in 2 seasons now. Speaks has done absolutely nothing. So here we are, in a position to absolutely have to address the position because we've ignored it for so long. |

I don't think so. Chiefs were pattern matching on that play (a Saban late game special). Bourne was Fenton's responsibility. Fuller was never, ever supposed to be anywhere other than covering the deep post. Because Fenton covered Sanders, that left Bourne without anyone covering him in the middle, which is why Fuller did a complete 180 to cover Bourne. This was a problem, because Ward's responsibility was to get Sanders on the inside toward Fuller. Because Fuller had to cover Bourne, it allowed Sanders to run past his coverage and be open enough for an elite quarterback to drop it in for a touchdown. Thankfully, there are few QB's in the NFL who could make that throw, and Jimmy G. didn't make it.
