Concerned -Pat Wouldn't be Pat if.....

I don't see Pat Mahomes being who he is today had he went to a premier football program instead of a more middling Texas Tech. TT, while a decent program, TT was far from an embarrassment of riches. Pat learned to adapt, improvise, and do without compared to say Bama, Florida, Texas, OK. We saw last year how Pat has learned to pull it off with less weapons and really, he looked better than ever working with less. Is anyone concerned that Pat loses a bit of his "resourcefulness" now that he has a stash of weapons? To me, Pat is best when he depends on Pat (and Kelce maybe). I hope I am wrong.

Mahomes throws for 50 TDs and 5,000 yds. in 2018, but he was "better than ever" last season?

12 posts per year should probably be less.

Mahomes’ “resourcefulness” was just fine when he had many “stashes” of offensive weapons with Tyreek, Sammy Watkins, etc.

He literally had his worst year ever as a pro last year. We won the Super Bowl but that was by far the worst offense Mahomes has ever been on since he was drafted.

I appreciate the thread and welcome to Chiefsplanet. I bet if you asked Pat when he is his best he would probably think it is when his back is against the wall and he doesn't have all the weapons as well.

I was expecting some of the less knowledgeable posters to hit this first. We can make a determination on the quality of this thread after some of the more respected minds on this forum weigh in. Still, just 2 thumbs down for 30 posts isn’t too bad.

I have zero concerns. None at all.

That being said I’m glad he played out of structure at TTech and didn’t go to some urban Meyer read option bullshit or some dink and dunk offense. Thank god he went to Andy Reid who got the absolute best out of him. Losing his best WRs was a great way to learn the game a different way and was a great experience for him. In the future, with legit WR talent, I think we will look back on the past few years and laugh that we ever though pat the game manager is nearly as good as Pat with weapons to cook.

It’s a weird thing because although we won two super bowls you can see a new spark in Patrick this offseason.
