Holy crap, this was fun. Recently due to the writers and actors strikes, the selections have been pretty weak. But this is new and very entertaining. In fact, I can relate to a lot of it.

How the hell are they together? Have they never met before? Dude is insensitive and a hothead but i don't think that is a new character trait. I am basically the black friend in this situation. I'm late 40s, fiance is 11 years younger, no kids, none on the way though. If I called someone a c*nt she would know that they deserved it, or I developed terets. Either way she would support me. Him crawling back at the end...ugh. They had to put kids in the situation to make that even remotely plausible.

I agree with what you said here. I felt that was forced at the end. Although the wife tells off the other wife after he asks her not to he gets mad but gets over it. This other woman is being a complete **** to him but he isn't supposed to stand up for himself? His wife leaves him for standing up for himself when he should be. **** that wife.

It got off to a strong start, and IMO it peaked when Burr flips out and calls the principal a "stumpy little ****" in front of everyone.

Then of course the movie backs off and compromises to avoid alienating everyone under age 40, which was a mistake. I wish it had gone the other way, with Burr declaring war on every young douche in the neighborhood.

Overall, it's a pretty good first effort for Burr as a director.

I'm disappointed at the cost of this service. NetFlix is expensive. I have an account on Amazon with a friend and there's not charge for locations. In fact, it's 75% higher than it started. From eight to fifteen and then another 8 for your friend.

Hard to watch Christina Applegate in the series.

I don't think he was trying to end it with a knockout punch. He was trying to get both "sides" of the generational divide to look at themselves and provide a little more grace to the other, IMO.

It was funny and I enjoyed it overall.
