Kicking balls weren't properly inflated for Chiefs vs Patriots
https://www.masslive.com/patriots/20...source=twitter
Call it Deflategate, Part II. Following their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Patriots special teamers were visibly upset in the locker room on Sunday due to an error by the officiating staff. According to multiple sources, the footballs that are meant for each team’s kicking units were underinflated by two pounds. After team complaints, officials took the ‘K-Balls’ into the locker room at halftime where they were discovered to weigh 11 pounds instead of the legal limit of 13.5, per sources. The underinflated footballs didn’t travel as well in the Foxborough weather on Sunday and sources indicated that’s why Patriots kicker Chad Ryland and Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker missed field goals in the first half. Sources noted that the footballs traveled farther in the second half once inflated to the proper 13.5 PSI. |

I'm glad Butker missed a kick.
Imagine in the playoffs announcers saying how he's made 100% of his kicks. |

You guys are too earth-centric. I bet it weighs 13.5 pounds on large planets.

You could tell watching the broadcast something was up with the special teams balls. There was no punch to them. I actually wondered if the Pats equipment staff was playing old tricks.

Maybe our WRs got the 13.5 lb slippery balls that were supposed to go to the kickers. All season long. Damn you refs!

I wouldn't rule it out. Could completely see them cooking up some bullshit, and then choosing to end it when they saw a different game setting up and decided their own inability to kick field goals might matter more.
